The 2025 meeting of the SCSP will be held in Columbia, SC on the University of South Carolina- Columbia campus. All events - including check-in will be held in the located in University Conference Center within the Close-Hipp Building (at 1705 College St). Elevators are at the center of the building, and the conference is in the University Conference Center on the 8th floor (directly outside of the elevator doors).

Getting to USC-Columbia Campus

USC - Columbia is  served locally by the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. Campus is approximately 95 miles (90 minutes) south of the located approximately the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT). CLT is the sixth busiest airport in the country, and is served by fifteen different carriers.

If you're arriving at the Charlotte-Douglas International airport, and are interested in carpooling, please contact the conference organizers. Click here for directions from CLT to the Close-Hipp Building.

Parking at the conference

There are several options you can choose from in different areas, including hourly parking, campus metered spaces and city meters. Paid Street Parking is available along  Pendleton and Barnwell Streets, and the parking lot at the Close-Hipp building (accessible off Barnwell Street) also offers hourly parking for visitors. Lodging

There are a variety of lodging options available, and there is no designated conference hotel. Here are a few suggestions:​

  1. The Graduate By Hilton​​​​

    • ​This hotel is two blocks to the conference site and a ten-minute walk to the restaurants and bars in Five Points. However, it is one of the more expensive options.

  2. ​Holiday Inn: Columbia

    • ​This is a more affordable option that is a roughly 20-minute walk to the conference site. It is located in the downtown Main St. neighborhood amidst a variety of restaurants, bars, museums, and shops.

  3. Hilton Garden Inn

    • This hotel is a ten-minute walk to the conference site, just a few blocks farther than the Graduate by Hilton. It is also located a block from Knowledge Perk, an excellent café.

  4. Airbnb​

    • Airbnb allows for rentals of home, apartments, bedrooms, etc. There are many good affordable options near campus. ​
